Artist Bio
Ari Pielecki is a Filmmaker and Photographer originally from Kelowna, BC. He currently resides on Treaty 7 Territory in Calgary, Alberta.
Ari graduated with a BFA in Visual Arts from UBC Okanagan in 2024. He has participated in four group shows: Spring Mix (2022) at The Alternator gallery, Misanthropocene: The New Epoch (2023) at The Fina Gallery, Ludonarrative Dissonance (2023) at The Fina gallery, and Context Not Included (2024) at UBCO. Ari held his first solo show New Noise at The Alternator Gallery in September 2024. He also recently won the 2023 and 2024 Student Okanagan Film Festival Live Action Film Award for his experimental short films The Receiver and The Yearning.
Ari is an outdoor enthusiast who is passionate about cycling, and other forms of active transportation. When he isn’t behind a camera he can frequently be found in the mosh pit at the nearest Metal or Punk concert.
